It began with my 1948 IWC Schaffhausen Cal. 89, a watch inherited from my grandmother’s brother which was running chaotically and not keeping time accurately at all, for such a Swiss quality watch.
After three unsuccessful visits to the most renowned trained watchmaker in my city, the only thing I was to find out from this watchmaker was that this watch was too old to run accurately and hence, it will never work accurately again. He also advised me not to try to get the respective watch repaired somewhere else, because nobody else would be able to fix it and make it to work accurately. In that thing I followed his advice, by not going to another watchmaker, and I began to learn the trade of watchmaking myself. After a few dozens, of more accessible in price repaired mechanical watches, mostly Soviet Union watches, and after two years of acquiring the trade of watchmaking, I eventually succeeded to turn a Swiss watch, allegedly “beyond any chance of repair” into one of the most accurate watches, and currently my only watch which I wear at my left hand, obviously out of protection reasons, because I wear any other watch at my right hand

If you put the right amount of interest, knowledge and endeavor, you may also be successful in this activity. My recipe for doing this is very simple, and pretty much the same every time when you want to build or to repair something:
1. Do your part!
Read, learn and accumulate as much as possible from the respective necessary specific knowledge
2. Before any action, say a prayer!
Why praying? When doing highly complicated and sophisticated constructions and repairs, like the repair of computers, smartphones, laptops or watches, each of them with tons of interconnected parts, implies not only to rely on your knowledge, wisdom and abilities and skills, because all these are merely only a prerequisite condition for a successful construction or repair. Best constructors and repairers are deeply faithful believers who know very well that even any of their very small misactions or mistakes, despite of their technical skills and abilities, can lead to a broken device instead of a successful repair or construction. And that is why you should always not rely only upon your skills, abilities and knowledge when you do this kind of activity!
